About Mary Pritchard Dressage

Mary started riding at the age of 8 yrs becoming heavily involved in the York & Ainsty South Pony Club. She represented them at national level in all disciplines, being Junior National Eventing Champion in 1987. She continued her eventing and showjumping career up until her early twenties when she started a family.

Since 2006 Mary has concentrated solely on dressage.

Her biggest achievement to date is representing Great Britain at Small Tour level with her home produced stallion Unison R.

She has also produced Zigeunerknabe and Don Franko over the last 4 years to Prix St George level and hopes to campaign them at Grand Prix in the near future. 

While Mary spends a lot of time working alone with her horses, she trains with Ian Woodhead at every opportunity. 

“Ian has been very instrumental in leading me in the right direction , giving me the confidence and the thirst for knowledge needed to progress.” 

She has also trained with Adelinda Cornelissen and received valuable input from Clive Halsall and Joanne Graham.

Unison R is an Approved stallion with the Anglo European Studbook and Mary has bred 3 lovely youngsters by him. She hopes to produce and compete them in top level competition.

Mary and Ieuan embrace a busy household and lifestyle having 8 children them, the youngest being 5 yrs.
